We know that if you have crooked teeth, you may still be hesitant to commit to wearing dental braces to straighten them. Maybe the thought of a mouthful of metal makes you shudder. Or you imagine the hassle of eating without damaging the metal wires. Fortunately, Invisalign offers an alternative to metal braces that might work for you. We are currently offering a special on our Invisalign treatment, so what better time to fill you in on the many benefits this treatment has to offer!
Virtually Invisible — Many, especially adults, cringe at the thought of metal braces and wires in their mouth. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are made of clear thermoplastic material and are barely noticeable.
Faster Results — Difficult cases may require traditional braces, but where Invisalign is a suitable option, teeth may be straightened in less than half the time it takes with metal braces.
Eat and Drink What You Like — You may have heard stories about people getting gum or caramel hopelessly stuck in metal braces or breaking the wires or brackets from biting into food that is too hard. This is one of the biggest advantages Invisalign has over traditional braces. When it’s time to eat, just remove the trays and reinsert when finished. You will want to brush after meals, though, because the aligner trays will prevent saliva from washing away food particles and bacteria that happens normally in your mouth.
Not an Effective Mouthguard — You may think since the trays cover your teeth, Invisalign will protect them from injury. They don’t. It’s best to remove them during contact sports and wear a proper mouthguard instead.
Won’t Work If Not Worn — Traditional metal braces are cemented onto your teeth and stay on with minor adjustments until they are removed when treatment is complete. Invisalign aligners are more convenient and comfortable and can be removed. But you must exercise self-discipline because to be effective, they should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day. You’ll need to plan your day for when and how long you’ll remove the aligners.
Less Intrusion on Daily Life — The trays may take a little time to get used to, but after the initial adjustment, you shouldn’t notice a difference in speech or a detrimental effect on dating or kissing. With proper oral hygiene, Invisalign won’t affect your breath, either.
No system will be completely invisible. You will still know the trays are there, and they do require conscientious use and care. But the benefits Invisalign offers might be the ones that are important to you.
